Projects Overview

Over the summer of 2005, the Leatherhead Tomorrow project team identified the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats from our community consultations and activities and facilitated the development of the community’s Vision and objectives for the town.

Out of this were developed approximately 30 key project ideas, which are the basis for the projects being pursued by The Leatherhead Area Partnership. The project numbering below is widely used in the more detailed progress reports.

 Objective 1: Town Centre details
V1To review the many uses of the High Street in order to plan for its varied functions and uses and then to implement agreed proposals

 Objective 5: Riverside and Countryside details
EN1To investigate how to allow and encourage active and passive recreational use of the river and riverbanks whilst safeguarding the unique environmental characteristics of the river.
EN2To improve access for all to the countryside immediately around the town and to promote Leatherhead to visitors as gateway to the Surrey Hills.
EN3To protect areas of beauty and wildlife value and to promote high standards of countryside management.
